# Get Stock Basic Info Screener by Sector

Retrieve a list of stock companies filtered by sector. 11 sector types are available: Basic Materials, Communication Services, Consumer Cyclical, Consumer Defensive, Energy, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrials, Real Estate, Technology, Utilities.
**ETF exclusion**: ETF rows are excluded from this endpoint. FMP categorizes nearly all ETFs as sector=Financial Services, which would dilute meaningful sector results.
